The Second China International Education Vision Summit

In October 2021, Providence Academy and 150 principals of international schools from all over China gathered on the bank of West Lake in Hangzhou to open the second China International Education Vision Summit with the theme of "Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves", which lasted for three days. Through dialogues with young representatives of Providence Academy, official representatives of overseas universities, and cross-industry experts, the current international relations situation and the impact of education policies on the industry were discussed macroscopically, and the current situation and development of international education in Zhejiang were examined in a microscopic perspective, and China was jointly promoted. International schools have comprehensive capabilities in enrollment, further education, teaching and research, etc. 


The summit kicked off with a warm opening ceremony on the first day. Wang Chenyi, principal of Hangzhou Yungu School, Tony Gao, founder of Providence Academy, and Yang Fan, president of Providence Academy, delivered speeches to welcome all guests, and introduced the original intention and mission of Providence Academy and Vision Summit. Ben Shenglin, Dean of International Joint Business School of Zhejiang University and former CEO of JPMorgan Chase Bank in China, gave a keynote speech at the summit, and shared his experience of witnessing China's finance and interntional Unicom with the summit members based on his experience in JPMorgan Chase and HSBC and the professionalism that Chinese international students should uphold in the employment process. 



In the morning of the next day of the summit, members visited Hangzhou Yungu School in batches. As a private school invested and established by Alibaba partners, Yungu School covers 15-year education in kindergarten, primary school, junior high school, and high school. During the visit, the trainees learned about the mission of Yungu School to make every child the best of themselves, to explore future-oriented educational concepts, and to cultivate benevolent spirit, independent will, social responsibility, lifelong learning ability and sense of happiness and the expectations of the students. 


In Yungu School, Yu Xiuhong, executive secretary-general of Jack Ma Public Welfare Group and chairman of Jack Ma Public Welfare Foundation, shared the theme of "Education for the Future". Teacher Yu went to the countryside with Jack Ma Public Welfare Foundation and focused on the countryside through the foundation of education, helping rural revitalization conveyed to the summit members the educational concept of "love intelligence, adverse intelligence, emotional intelligence" that should be paid more attention to the next generation. 


Mr. Wang Chengyi, the co-sponsor of the vision summit and the high school principal of Hangzhou Yungu School, shared the school's purpose, teaching setting, curriculum system, as well as the extracurricular activities of Hangzhou Yungu School. "The school-running concept was passed on to the on-site members, which laid the tone for the discussion of inclusiveness and co-creation for this summit. 


In the course session, Lu Hancheng, dean of Providence Academy, Wu Zijian, former chief principal of Shanghai YK Pao Experimental School, Liu Yu, general manager of Sunshine Holdings Education Group, Wang Yin, chief principal of American-China International Aizhi School, and Wang Tingting, principal of Hailiang Foreign Language Middle School. Together, they brought the discussion of the "International Education Principals Round table Forum", shared with the summit members the development status of international schools and discussed the direction of Chinese international schools in the context of the reconstruction of global international relations. Returnee youth representatives from Providence Academy also shared their study journey and application secrets from international schools to famous overseas schools in the "International Educational Youth Round table Forum". 



Focusing on the topic of "Should I find my parents or teachers when I encounter difficulties in my teenage years?", a wonderful debate pushed the speculative atmosphere to a climax; Xu Jiru, a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University and a wonderful debater, also made professional comments on the performance of the debaters present with a talk show humorous expression. 


Shang Xiao, the co-founder of EasyTransfer, and Lu Hancheng, the co-founder of Providence Academy, introduced the "Senior Help" product jointly developed by EasyTransfer and Providence Academy to 150 international school principals at the end of the summit course, aiming to provide multi-dimensional after-study services for families studying abroad, unite hundreds of high-quality foreign student KOLs from various schools around the world and the China Federation of Students, from various aspects such as graphic and text freshman handbooks, live broadcasts of sisters from hundreds of schools, and one-on-one customized Q&A, to help freshmen enter the last mile, empower teachers, parents and freshmen, and make life after studying abroad clearer, more efficient, smoother and simpler.


With the sincere speeches and cheerful singing at the closing dinner, the agenda of the 2nd China International Education Vision Summit also officially came to an end. 150 international school principals and counselors from all over China shared discussions with Providence Academy, collision and debate, we will reunite with Providence again in winter. May Chinese international education practitioners ride the wind and break the waves together with Providence Academy.
