EasyTransfer at the NISAU Higher Education Conference

On February 28th 2024, David Stringer-Lamarre, Senior Advisor at EasyTransfer, and Daniel Akiva, Director of UK Operations, were invited by Rozina Mehta, Founder and Managing Director of RMC Services, to attend the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK Conference, "The Future of Education."



Supported by the Department for Business and Trade and prominent higher education organizations such as Universities UK International, UKCISA, Chevening, London Higher, and BUILA, the Achievers program is a prestigious initiative that celebrates and fosters dialogue on the India-UK education relationship. Organized and delivered by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU), the program aims to highlight the achievements of Indian students and alumni in the UK and strengthen the bond between the two countries.



The conference served as a strategic platform for leaders in the UK and Indian higher education sectors to engage directly with students, alumni, and supporters of international education. By facilitating dialogue on the evolving landscape of India-UK educational relations, the event aimed to foster collaboration and understanding. Featuring a distinguished roster of speakers, including policymakers, visionary leaders, and influential figures, the conference covered a wide range of critical topics, from employability and immigration to artificial intelligence and electoral trends. Panellist discussion topics include "Unlocking Growth through Skills: The Currency of the Future", "Eyes on the Prize: Is TNE the future?" as well as "The Manifesto for International Higher Education: What must the incoming government do?", etc. Over forty speakers addressed these issues, providing valuable insights and perspectives. It also offered attendees the opportunity to network with a diverse group of over 500 delegates, comprising government dignitaries, educational leaders from both countries, students, alumni, and supporters of international higher education. By participating, delegates were able to discuss how they can together contribute to shaping future collaboration in the India-UK education corridor.



The conference attracted a distinguished group of attendees, with over 500 representatives from various sectors, including government, academia, and media. Notable attendees included Barbara Wickham OBE, Head of British Council India; Lord Karan Bilimoria, Chancellor of the University of Birmingham; Luis Franceschi, Founding Dean of Strathmore University Law School; Nick Jennings, Vice-Chancellor and President of Loughborough University; Dinesh Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University; Sionade Robinson Ph.D., FRGS, Vice President (Enterprise, Engagement, and Employability) at City, University of London; Ravneet Pawha, Vice President - Global Alliances and CEO - South Asia at Deakin University; Bobby Mehta, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at the University of Portsmouth; Shivani Bhalla, Head of International Student Recruitment at Brunel University London; and Akanksha Kumar, Student Union President at City, University of London. This impressive lineup of attendees highlighted the significance of the conference and its ability to attract key stakeholders from both the UK and India.
